Limiting beliefs pose a very real threat to anyone who is striving to reach their goals, but in my experience limiting beliefs pose an even greater threat to those individuals who are working hard to build their very own online business.

Make no mistake about it: the world of online business is a competitive world. It takes time and effort to find the right niche, get a website up and running, and manage the marketing, sales and customer service side of your business while trying to be the best in your niche. Even though it’s difficult, with the right help it is not impossible. Unfortunately the limiting beliefs that come your way will try to tell you otherwise.

If you’re getting ready to run an online business or you’re already in the middle of it, make sure to be aware of these 5 limiting beliefs that could potentially prevent you from online success. If you want to experience online success, don’t give into them 

#1: I’m not a Technology Expert

I don’t think there is one online entrepreneur today that knew everything they needed to know about technology before starting their online business. Yes, you will need to develop certain skill sets if you want to enjoy online success, but there are courses, programs and mentors that can teach you that stuff as you go along. You don’t have to know everything from day one to be successful online.

#2: I Don’t Have a Large Advertising Budget

News flash: you don’t need thousands of dollars in ad budget to make a huge splash online. Being an effective advertiser doesn’t mean you spend the most money, it means you learn to spend the money you do have in the most strategic way possible. You can spend a dollar a day on Facebook ads and generate a lot of revenue for your online business. Once you know the information, you can be successful online. 

#3: Nobody Knows who I am

Are successful people born successful? Absolutely not. Even the best online entrepreneurs had to work to build their following, attract website visitors and subscribers, and make money online. Getting known in your niche will not happen overnight, but if you follow the correct process, over time you will build a lot of credibility online and people will know who you are.

#4: I Don’t Have an Email List

Yes, the bigger your list, the more money you will make. With that said, every online entrepreneur began their journey with zero email subscribers. If you want 10,000 people on your email list, you’re going to have to work hard to build your following. Nobody is given a huge list from day one—you have to earn it. If you do put in the work, you can make a lot of money from your email list.

#5: I Don’t Know Where to Start

The best way to get started on your online business journey is to talk to people that are already doing it, or people that have done it. Find a mentor or a course that can teach you everything you need to know to be successful online. Before you know it, you’ll be the next great online entrepreneur, working from your beach house in Hawaii.
